Graph Issues when timeline presets are increased

Post by hudson »

I am a new user to Cacti and am having an issue with my graphs that I do not understand. The graphs themselves are drawing perfectly. The problem I am seeing is that when I increase the timeline presets from 1 day to say 1 week or 1 month, the maximum decreases. Lets say I had a maximum of 28.80 Mb today. If i change the graph to 1 week it will say my maximum is 16.08, monthly says maximum of 4.47 and yearly 825.23K. Shouldn't the maximum stay the highest number? I understand why the average would change when you increase the days, but I don't understand why maximum changes. One other thing I noticed was that the Current increases as the timeline increases. If someone could either explain to me why this is happening or give me a link to read it I would appreciate it.

Just to add I am running cacti on Windows Server 2008 64 bit. I am using In/Out bits graphs with 64-bit counters.

This is a generic issue, moving forums.

This is due to rrdtool consolidation. http://docs.cacti.net/manual:088:8_rrdt ... solidation
