error when building graphics with external scripts

am following a tutorial: http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:3a_adv ... ut_methods to build a plot starting at data from a script but the data was not collected or anything else.

the script always returns a value:
/ var / www / cacti / scripts # sh teste_snmp.sh 10.0.0.1
501
but the data are not exposed.

the logs in cacti_path/ log / cacti.log not tell me much
