Boost Plugin

Post by msw1970 »

How do you remove the boost plugin?

I've disabled and uninstalled it via Plugin Management, however, the tables still exist in the database and continue to be populated with data every time the poller runs... Is ths normal?

Also, the poller_output table doesn't appear to get populated when the poller runs??

Delete the boost plugin directory. What version were you using and what version of Cacti? You will have to manually delete the tables.

hi,
i actually test the boost plugin (v3.0-1). So i tried uninstalling, too. Here i have a problem, too.
i uninstalled via Plugin Managment & removed the folder.
2 questions:
1.why i have to remove the tables still manually?
2.after removing the tables i get a lot of the following logs:
02/26/2010 01:58:08 PM - SPINE: Poller[0] ERROR: SQL Failed! Error:'1146', Message:'Table 'cacti.poller_output_boost' doesn't exist', SQL Fragment:'INSERT INTO poller_output_boost....
i thought, it is uninstalled via PM?!

thx & regards

You likely have it in your plugins array in include/global.php

That is interesting. I'll have to see what is going on then. It should not even be active. Weird.

Same problem here.

Post by ikorzha758 »

The Witness I would like to second the opinion of the user "uhtred" I have installed boost 3.0 first and then uninstalled it using PM and still get errors see below...
We can schedule a sesssion and take a look at the problem....

in a mean time cacti log is full of errors and can't see anything past them...
Removing poller_boost table generates another spine sql error.

02/28/2010 09:55:17 PM - SPINE: Poller[0] ERROR: SQL Failed! Error:'1114', Message:'The table 'poller_output_boost' is full', SQL Fragment:'INSERT INTO poller_output_boost (local_data_id, rrd_name, time, output) VALUES (11213,'traffic_in','2010-02-28 21:55:14','747046870'),(11275,'traffic_in','2010-02-28 21:55:14','2604945032'),(11228,'traffic_in','2010-02-28 21:55:14','1595372007'),(11228,'traffic_out','2010-02-28 21:55:14','1936398180'),(11272,'traffic_in','2010-02-28 21:55:14','2667615157'),(11219,'traffic_out','2010-02-28 21:55:14','1569826990'),(11219,'traffic_in','2010-02-28 21:55:14','3585793886'),(11220,'traffic_in','2010-02-28 21:55:14','2207333808'),(11220,'traffic_out','2010-02-28 21:55:14','3170711027'),(11305,'traffic_in','2010-02-28 21:55:14','2334098519'),(11292,'traffic_in','2010-02-28 21:55:14','3527911663'),(11292,'traffic_out','2010-02-28 21:55:14','781833952'),(11273,'traffic_in','2010-02-28 21:55:14','1346920476'),(11273,'traffic_out','2010-02-28 21:55:14','3817091234'),(11274,'traffic_out','2010-02-28 21:55:14','182151167'),(11274,'traffic_in','2010-02-28 21:55:14','2007992611'),(11214,'traffic_in','2010-02-28 21:55:14','23'

Your table has run out of space. You likely did not read the README. Also, don't select direct boost table population in your Poller settings.

TheWitness, can you please pinpoint where exactly is the setting for: A direct boost table population in your Poller settings.

I have went to Console, Settings, Poller Tab and there is no reference there to A direct boost table population. Please advice if I'm looking at the wrong location.

I believe the uninstaller should be removing settings from the settings table as well. Run the following:

Code: Select all

mysql -e "delete from settings where name like '%boost%'" cacti
That should fix it. Also, please log a bug to http://bugs.cacti.net indicating that the settings table is not emptied during uninstall.
