Hmm, something went wrong with the installer. please attach the cacti install log to your post as an attachment for me to review.

In the meanwhile, edit \cacti\include\global.php and remove those offending entries.

I disabled the entries as you said in the php file, what i also noted was that the rra folder only contained a .4 folder which differed from a other cacti installation, i simply copied the folders 2 3 4 with the containing files and that solved my graph bug.

From the installer log, I see you installed a few plugins, but not the core plugin architecture itself. This is why some things are broken. Go ahead and just re-run the installer, which will overwrite all your existing cacti stuff.

The SSL Apache is installed (if selected). Not sure offhand if the newer net-snmp 5.5.x binaries have the SSL stuff included with them or not -- the older 5.4.x packages had a separate SSL download required.

Are you able to snmpwalk using V3 from the commandline against a host?

I didnt snmpwalk v3 via cli, but i tried via cacti without having it work.
No biggy for us (this cacti setup is only needed for ~6weeks) but so you and anybody else knows.

Im still having trouble with my setup, what I have done is that i have uninstalled everything, and done the same procedure again.

Installation:
Windows 2008 SE 32 Bit
Apacahe 2.2
IIS is disabled.

After installation I have created a local administrator account called cacti and assigned this account to the cacti 5 min task i scheduler. Just to be sure i have put the cacti account manually on every folder created by the installer, e.g. and given it read / write and modify rights folders are

/apache2
/php
/rrdtool
/spine
/usr
/mysql
/getif
(i know this isnt nessessary as the account is admin but i did it anyways).

After this i rebooted the server and upon statup logged on cacti where i proceeded to create a device. During this step i notice that i get a SNMP error message but UDP ping works (devices are set to Ping or SNMP) tcp/ip ping does work either. Any thoughts on this? (SNMP version used is version 2, does this matter?)

The devices are 1. Windows 2008 Se server (not the cacti host) and 2. a Windows 2003 SE.

After above i created two graph list one ucd/net cpu usage and one windows uptime statistics with default SLA setting.

Graph debug mode doesnt say error se rrdtool.txt in attached rar file. you will also find the installation log there.

Do you have any idea why SNMP wont work and why the two graphs dont get updated.

Any help would be much appreciated. (As you can see I no longer have that PHP issue,.)

ucd/net cpu usage -- is only for linux and does not work on windows. Delete them.

windows uptime statistics -- does not come with Cacti normally either.

You need to take one step at a time. First, get a few devices functional with the stock graphs that come with cacti (cpu usage, traffic, disk space, etc). Then, start using 3rd party templates, etc. Looks like your installation is functional, so please create a new thread if you continue to have problems.

I tried your last work in a test environment with a fresh install of W2003 x64 Ent. edition but something was wrong.
I installed your package with all flags and the installer works flawlessy but, also after reboot, when I tried to login I get this message from IE:

FastCGI Error
The FastCGI Handler was unable to process the request.

Error Details:

Could not find entry for "php" on site 1 in [Types] section.
Error Number: 1413 (0x80070585).
Error Description: Invalid index.
HTTP Error 500 - Server Error.
Internet Information Services (IIS)


I did a fast check about php.ini, environment system variables and all seems ok.
Any idea?

smlick: please attach the cacti-installer.log. Also turn off 'friendly http error messages' in IE and try the site again to see the real error.

I turned off in IE (advanced-->browsing) the "show friendly HTTP error messages" but nothing has changed about the error message detail:

P.S.:I get this error also in FF or Chrome.
I tried this solution http://forums.iis.net/t/1146747.aspx (Before reading the rest of this post, I fixed the problem. I had an empty [TYPES] config section in fcgiext.ini. I removed it and I was up and running. ) with no success......but in my case [TYPES] was not empty:

Hmm well your fcgiext.ini appears correct and I didn't spot any issues in the cacti-installer.log. awesome, finally a real bug with the installer process after all this time

Mind double-checking the IIS configuration using Using FastCGI to Host PHP Applications on IIS 6.0 guide? a simple phpinfo page work?

I also notice that the FastCGI component has been upgrade from 1.0 (my installer uses) to 1.5.2. please install the updated version to see if that helps.
