.rrd file are not updating.

i am using cacti-0.8.7e version.
i followed all the instructions given on the site
http://www.cacti.net/downloads/docs/html
i gave permission to my rra/ and log/ file.


waiting for reply.

see i checked those links . everything is okay.
but still the .rrd files are not updating. i set the cronjob and it's running i can see the output but it's not updating rrd files.

hey one more thing if fresh setup is there and first time when cronjob runs it's creating .rrd files but after that it's not updating those files.
there is no error in cacti.log file.

when i am trying to update the .rrd file manually using rrdtool i am getting error:
ERROR: localhost_cpu_nice_8.rrd: expected timestamp not found in data source from ucd/net
this was my error, i was passing wrong date.
now i am able to run this successfully.

but still i am not able to update .rrd files.
my logs are in debug mode bt with no errors.
i don't why .rrd files r not getting update.

Pipe the poller output STDOUT and STDERR to e.g. poller.log. This should get you an idea of what is going on

After this also my .rrd files are showing old timestamp.

This shows, that cacti at least tries to update the rrd files. So please log in as "cactiuser" (the user that runs the poller from crontab) and run e.g.

/usr/bin/rrdtool update /usr/share/cacti/rra/localhost_load_15min_12.rrd --template load_15min N:0.05
and see, what happens

i already tried this..... but the result is same, not updating .rrd files.
