Having trouble installing aggregate plugin

Post by lctn »

I am new to cacti, so I could be missing something that is obvious to others. Cacti is working fine polling interfaces of my routers. I am attempting to install and configure the aggregate plugin (first plugin), but it does not show up via the web interface, under "User Management".

I installed the architecture, and imported psc.sql. (manage plugins shows up in web interface, but nothing under it)
installed aggregate-070b2.tgz according to instructions.
I changed the name of the folder to "aggregate" (after I could not get the plugin to show up)
modified global.php: $plugins = array();
$plugins[] = 'aggregate';

I do have an option to allow user to manage plugins, but nothing about allowing the user to work with the aggregate plugin.

I went through the process again, just be sure I didn't miss anything. This time I installed plugin version aggregate-070B2. I edited global.php, enabled the plugin, and found I had missed the path info, which I changed from /cacti/ to "/" (my install is in /var/www/cacti, which is the root of the site).

I noticed the permissions for the aggregate directory were set to "admin, Pegasus" . I changed it to root.root like all other folders after I could not get the aggregate plugin to show up in the web, user configuration page.

Any ideas what else I should be looking for?

Please only use new aggregate. There's no need to tweak config.php anymore. It's noew done via PIA 2.x interface

Documentation

Post by lctn »

I would be glad to. Can you point me to the right docs then? I have been using the following for documentation on plugins:

http://cactiusers.org/wiki/PluginsInstall

Is it under a different name than aggregate?

Thanks for the pointers

My plugin comes with a complete PDF manual that includes installation instructions. This assumes, that plugin arch has successfully been installed.
