[solved] Pre-install setup question

Post by jc23 »

Hey all, getting ready to install Cacti for the first time and was wondering if anyone had a recommendation on how much disk space is needed to house all the data Cacti generates.

We would like to keep as much historical data as possible.

Thanks

I ran the installer no errors were reported in the log.

I try to connect to http://localhost and i get

No input file specified.

I have already read through the FAQ and common troubleshooting and didnt come across anything
Any ideas

hmm unrelated tech support questions. Anyways read through http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=11747 for tips on figuring why things aren't working.

What web server you using? Any errors in its logs?

I figured it out.

I tried to make the IIS site directly to inetpub\wwwroot\cacti
"http://servername"
Instead of where the installer put it at inetpub\wwwroot
"http://servername/cacti"

Is there a reason that not having the site point to inetpub\wwwroot would cause the "no input file" error

both of the default pages were pointed @ index.php

for what its worth I have the same issue at the moment . I noticed that the php extension under the iis was pointing to C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\fcgiext.dll and there is no trace of the isapi dlls (I used the automated installer)

Everything else works perfectly

ISAPI has been retired by PHP -- FastCGI is what is used these days on 5.2.10+ and 5.3.x.
