Migrating from a Win2k to a Win2k3 server

Post by Guest »

Hi I have a question here, I already have my win2k box running cacti perfectly, but now my boss is telling me that we need to move all the rrds to a win2k3 box because of administration stuff, my question is, can I continue using the same rrd files that I created with the new installation of cacti in the win2k3 server??? I dont want to loss all the data that we have been taking from our devices

And another question, can I use the new version of cacti and still using the same rrds of an older version in the win2k3 server?, I just want to know what is recommended by the experts

Moving files

Hey,

I have moved my cacti install several times. Just copy your rra directory to the new machine in it's rra directory. That will get the rrd files in the correct place.
