Cacti Temperature Graph for HP C7000 Enclosure

Post by C@ctiUser »

Hi, I currently have an HP C7000 Enclosure and would like to have Cacti Graph the temperature readings on it. I was able to get the power usage to graph but nothing else. If someone would have a template that I could just import (because I am just starting to use this program and I am unsure how to create one) it would be GREATLY appreciated! I have tried to google this but was unsuccessful on finding anything. Your help would be appreciated, Thank You!

Cacti Temperature Graph for HP C7000 Enclosure

Post by C@ctiUser »

I had read that documentation and did some research and found what 'appears' to be the enclosures OID (.1.3.6.1.4.1.232.6.2.6.8.1.1)??. However, when I create everything it still fails. I am just about to consider just monitoring the blades themselves and since I am able to do that without any problems, but it would be really nice to monitor the Enclosure.

+ Running data query [33].
+ Found type = '3' [snmp query].
+ Found data query XML file at 'E:/APPS/Cacti/Apache2/htdocs/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/das_compaq_temps.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.
+ Executing SNMP walk for list of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.4.1.232.6.2.6.8.1.2.0'
+ No SNMP data returned
+ Found data query XML file at 'E:/APPS/Cacti/Apache2/htdocs/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/das_compaq_temps.xml'

I am not sure why i am not getting any SNMP data returned. Everything has been setup the same as the other servers. At the top of the screen it show under SNMP Information that the system has been up for about a month, it has contact info, and also the system. I appreciate your help, i just started using this not too long ago, but I really like it, aside from the problem that i am running into with this enclosure.

Take your pick of snmp applications. net-snmp is free, open source, and works on all platforms.

I have tried using net-snmp as you had stated but it doesn't seem to pull anything from the enclosure.

Has anyone been able to retrieve the MIB for the HP C7000 Enclosure? Or better yet do you have a Graph & Data Template that I can import into Cacti? It would be greatly appreciated, I have been working on this for some time now but with no luck. Thank You

If you get no data probably SNMP is not well configurated on the C7000 have you tried also with getIF?
Try before with this tool and then when it works you can try to build a template.

Graphs for C7000 Enclosures

Post by C@ctiUser »

Has anyone had any luck with this? Are there any graph templates that someone would be willing to share/create? I have been looking around and still have yet to find anything. Thank You!
