guest view with password-less login in cacti 0.8.7e, patch?

Post by marcmerlin »

From reading the documentation, it used to be easy, but no more.

http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:2_basi ... management
says it's disabled.

I edited my guest user, enabled login, but when I go to
http://myhost/cacti/graph_view.php
I still get a login prompt.

I found this patch
http://bugs.cacti.net/view.php?id=1462
Is one supposed to now apply it to get password-less guest graph views?

Thanks,
Marc

I'm very confused, I don't see how to do this without patching the code, but yet I can't be the only person to need password-less guest views.

Am I missing something really obvious?

Well, I hand applied the patch and had to add two entries in the cacti db (I used phpmyadmin):
autologin_guest_login on
guest_user guest

The piece of patch for graph_header.php didn't apply for me, but I couldn't get it to read url_path from the settings table, so I just hardcoded:
<a href="/cacti/login.php">Login</a>
(change /cacti/ as relevant for you).

I hope this gets into the source tree one way or another because it's quite useful.

autologin_guest_login on
guest_user guest
settings table.
I used phpmyadmin so that I didn't need to write SQL queries

No idea, you'll have to debug this yourself from your logs.

Sorry,

did you try to go to
settings:authentication:Special Users
and set "guest user" to guest?

after that i could access the graph page directly without a login.

picture-1, enable 'guest' account in special_users session, I can open graph or weathermap or thold. but fail to open 'npc' 'clog' 'camm'.

strange status, the URL always redirect to open 'graph_view.php" regardless of I click npc or camm tab.

1. click 'camm' tab and the web page show below error message
