Awesome response! I just installed it over my previous installation (new setup, no big deal yet if something gets lost). I'll let you know how it works.

@The Witness,

yesterday i've upgraded from cacti-0.8.6 to the cacti-0.8.6a-pre20040921 release. Without updating cactid (i still use the rpm-version of 0.8.6).

The result: Everything works - no more gaps in my graphs!!! Before i've updated rrdtool from 0.46 to 0.49 but i got the same issues... Seems like a problem inside the cacti-scripts...
