Plugin Architecture no where to be found after install

Post by hariskhan »

Hello,

I have cacti 0.8.7d on freebsd 7.0 and plugin architecture cacti-plugin-0.8.7d-PA-v2.4.zip.

cacti was installed from ports.

I followed the instructions at http://cactiusers.org/wiki/PluginArchitectureInstall

I copied the diff to /usr/local/share/cacti and ran;

patch -p1 -N < cacti-plugin-0.8.7d-PA-v2.4.diff

It succeeded. Then I imported the pa.sql into my database. It also succeeded.

cacti 0.8.7d comes with 48 tables, the plugin architecture pa.sql file adds 4 more tables, bringing the total to 52 tables. That's what I have on my box.

After all this, when I check the cacti console, the option plugin architecture doesn't show up on the left menu

Need some insight into this issue

I'm missing the menu entry too. Good to know that I am not the only one. :)

Check your realm permissions under Console->User Management where
option "Plugin Management" has to checked.

I have the same problem, but I don't see Plugin Management anywhere, even on the user management page.

I assume you have forgotten to import pa.sql to the Cacti database.

Hmm, I don't have that file anywhere in my Cacti directory. Can you point me in the right direction?

EDIT: I didn't realize that the Linux tar of Cacti did not include the Plugin Architecture (PA) at all. My Windows install file did. Anyways, I downloaded the latest PA and followed the instructions, including importing pa.sql. At least now I have the Plugins menu now.
