Cacti not polling (Unable to load dynamic library)

Post by AirOnSkin »

Hello there

I've installed cacti 0.8.7e acording to the install manual on a Debian 5.0 machine. I'm able to get to the web interface, create devices, etc. So far everything's fine.

Unfortunately graphs aren't working. After some research I found out, that no data gets generated. The rra folder is completely empty.

The directory premissions seem to be right. I tested it with:

Code: Select all

su cacti
touch /var/www-cacti/rra/test
My syslog tells me, that every 5min the php /var/www-cacti/poller.php command gets executed by the user cacti. If i try to run the same thing as root, I get the following:

Code: Select all

[root: ~] php /var/www-cacti/poller.php
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/etc/php5/conf.d
I have 2 other websites (2x MeidaWiki) running on the same server. MediaWiki needs PHP & MySQL as well, and the modules load just fine.

At the moment I have no idea where the problem could be. If anyone has some advice for me, I'd be very happy.

Thanks in advance.

Uff, I just spent 3h fixing the server. With all the stuff I've been doing to get Cacti working I screwed up my two wikis :/.

Now, I did a complete new installation. The result is, that my PHP works again and I don't get the error from before. However, when I run php /var/www-cacti/poller.php it tells me that I need xcache (php5-xcache).

When I install that one my Wikis won't work anymore because they use APC.

Now, the strangest part:
I did a apt-get remove php5-xcache and dpkg --purge php5-xcache. After restarting Apache I get graphs... ?!!? oO

I don't really understand it. Does Cacti use/need XCache?

(Sorry for not being able to provide more logical problems ;D )

Cheers

It is new to me that Cacti would require xcache.
