Post by smeagolgollum »

i used BSOD2600's windows package, started with a fresh system (no iis, no sql, etc), chose Apache, rebooted after install, opened up browser, plugged in http://localhost and all i get is "It works!" ...i tried localhost\cacti and my browser downloads a file which, when i opened it up, looks a lot like index.php...what's going on?!?

Please attach the cacti-installer.log so I can review what happened during the install.

Bah, you installed it in Program Files, which Cacti can't work with. Thats the reason it defaults off the C:\ drive.

Guess I should add another warning in the installer for that...

lega1100: it appears you tried to run the installer on an existing installation. Either delete/remove everything (apache, mysql + mysql data files, etc) or go through the windows installation guide to troubleshoot which part of the install failed.

Look in the apache log file why it's unable to start up properly.
Look in the mysql log file why it's unable to start too.

Hi BSOD2600, I´ve done all you suggested. Apache´s error log, indicates me next line:

[Fri Feb 19 11:00:05 2010] [error] (OS 10038)Se intentó realizar una operación en un elemento que no es un socket. : Child 3952: Encountered too many errors accepting client connections. Possible causes: dynamic address renewal, or incompatible VPN or firewall software. Try using the Win32DisableAcceptEx directive.

What do I have to do to use the directive above mentioned?

Many thanks.

BSOD2600, now CACTI is running OK!. All my problems were because of my AV. Forgiveness for my mistakes.

Hi,

try installing the one you have on this forum. You can find it on cacti support/Windows specific. The first link. Use the default directories to install all components (by default, c:\). All programs you need to run cacti are on that installer. Then post again to know if every thing went ok.javascript:emoticon('')
