Device status unknown until add some graphs

Post by zmeh »

Hi

I have problem when i create device status is unknown until I create some graphs.
What I want is to some devices monitoring status (up, down) and availability without creating any graphs.

I'm using Cacti 0.8.7c with monitor plugin.
Sorry for my English :)

Regards.

? Host Availability Settings -> icmp ping ?
I set this but doesn't work like this, on device page i see icmp ping time or time out but until i create some graphs host status is unknown.

On device "Downed Device Detection" is set to "Ping", doesn't work.
I try "ping or snmp" too. After one hour device is still unknown, when i add some graph after couple minutes status was updated properly.
