Post by witboy »

Hi!

I have a question. Does anybody knows if exist some plugin for cacti or script or template like in Oputils that have some option for enable/ disable interface on switch?

Thanks.

As far as I know, this function is NOT available in Cacti. I don't think you'll ever see it either, as this can be quite dangerous.
Cacti Version 0.8.8b
Cacti OS Ubuntu LTS
RRDTool Version RRDTool 1.4.7

If the switches can allow this via snmp writes, then it's probably not hard to do as a plugin. I agree that it's probably a little dangerous, depending on who has permission to use it, of course.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

hmmm... Why is a risk if you have only few admins to do that. At the moment we can remove "sticky" on the switch port via terminal. But if we have a web interface ex. cacti to do this, it will be much easier an faster.

As I said in the previous post, the same function has in Oputils in the section Port mapper (i think). But its too expensive and for now for everything else we use cacti. Similar thing is on nagios in the port monitoring section, but fort that you need MTRG and we don't using it.
