Per Device (Host Availability Settings) Not working in 8.7e

Post by kry34 »

Anyone have any suggestion as to why the host availability setting (per device) does not take effect? Whatever is set globally work for all devices but I am not able to make the per device exceptions.

Any help would be great.

This makes me wonder. WHich version do you use? How did you test your assumption?

8.7e for Windows..using IIS.

I came to my conclusing by running WireShark on a remote device I was polling... As I altered poller settings I was monitoring the packets arriving (or in some cases not arriving).

Let me know if there is any futher info I provide you with to help troublehshoot.

Thanks.

Cross posting does not get you help faster.

There is a ping patch out for 0.8.7e, I suggest you apply it (and the others).

Your statement may or may not be true, however I did not see the harm in do so. I posted the topic in two separate forms in the event there was a peer out there browsing through one or the other thus increasing the likely hood of my topic being seen. My apologies if this activity was frowned upon.

Regarding the patch(s) ; The ICMP patch for IIS was applied but I had to roll it back, when after applying the patch I was no longer able to edit my individual devises.

Thanks.
