Host Availability Settings

Post by kry34 »

I needs some help with configuring “Host Availability Settings”, It seems that if I select SNMP in the global settings as “Downed Host Detection” the all my hosts show online weather they are up or down, as well the poller does not seem to be polling based on wireshark captures to my desktop.
If I select UDP Pings as the DHD method, everything seems to work as I would expect, however if I select either SNMP AND PING ..or… SNMP OR PING as the DHD, all my hosts show down.
Ultimately what I am trying to achieve is: 75% of my hosts I have the SNMP strings configured on, the other 25% I am only trying to get up/down host detection via either ICMP or UDP pings.

As well I have noticed that the “Per Device” Host Availability Settings do not take effect, the global settings overrides the Per Host setting.

Any assistance or recommendations would greatly be appreciated.

There is a ping patch out for 0.8.7e, I suggest you apply it (and the others).
