[solved] username & password

Post by mon22oct »

Hi,
I installed cacti on vista as per the instructions in the following link,
http://bsod2600.home.comcast.net/~bsod2 ... ndows.html

I am able to open/view login page- http://localhost/cacti.

when i entered admin/admin as username/password for the first time, i was navigated to same login page. I typed in diff usrname and password.
It says password/username does not match.
I repeated by typing in admin/admin and then again admin/somepassword. But still i am unable to log in to cacti.

Went through the table in mysql user_auth. There are only two users.admin and guest.
Can i insert username and etc there. Will tha work. Or else did go wrong with installation?!.

No - look closer. The first box is a login box. The SECOND box is asking you to change the password by typing the SAME thing in both boxes. That's why it says the passwords don't match when you put admin in one box and a password in the other :-)
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)
