New devices listed as Status Unknown

I have had Cacti 0.8.7b running on Suse for over a year. Data sources are getting info gathered. Graph data is reliable. Monitor and weathermap plugin installed and operating correctly. I added a new Generic SNMP Host and it pulled SNMP info correctly and performs successful UDP pings, but it is listed with Status Unknown. Today I added a Windows Host and got the same result. Succesfully pulled SNMP info and UDP ping but Status is Unknown. I updated Cacti to current version 0.8.7e hoping this issue would be fixed but I am getting the same problem.

I have seen several forum posts about this but no resolution. Does anyone know how to correct this? Like I stated previously, everything else is working correctly except adding new devices.
