Installing on CentOS5.3 64-Bit Can't connect to MySQL on loc

Post by jmarcus »

Hi,
I'm trying to install on Cent OS 5. I disabled SELINUX, I can login to the MySQL database from cmd line with the cacti user. But all I get is this error:

Code: Select all

[root@cacti cacti]# php /var/www/cacti/poller.php
FATAL: Cannot connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'. Please make sure you have specified a valid MySQL database name in 'include/config.php'

It feels like it might be one of those silly errors that just needs a fresh set of eyes.

Thanks

I changed the perms on the cacti files and was able to run poller.php without error.

Now I can't get the cacti page to come up.
