Is antivirus supported on Cacti.

Post by johara »

Is Anti-virus supported on the Cacti server? If so are there specific exclusions that need to be made to prevent it from interferring with the normal operation of Cacti? This would be placed on an existing working Cacti 8.7b installation. The anti-virus we are intending to install is McAfee EPO version 8.7i service pack 2.
Thank You

Unless the antivirus blocks SNMP or WMI traffic, it's unlikely to be a problem. I guess on-access scanning might cause a performance hit - perhaps exempting .rrd files would be a good idea.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)
