1min and 5 min poller in 1 installation

Post by sewkol »

I setup my cacti to poller critical devices (routers, servers) to 1 minut and desktops to 5 minutes. Graphs are ok, but i am wonder is every device polls every 1 minut or critical every 1 minut and desktops every 5 minutes?
I wonder becouse of cacti log (every minute RRDs processed and datasources are the same):

I must add about 300 desktops more (mainly on VPN - slow WAN links) and worry about time of polls :(

Hi,

This makes no sense as I thought you set the poller globally in the poller section.

You familiar with the KISS principle?

i suggest keeping them all at the same value for uniformity and ease of knowing what you are reading at first glance.

also, check the sticky notes at the top of this page; namely 0.8.7 and 1 minute polling.

Yes I read this thread, but I must have 2 different poller times and don't want 2 different installations...
