Graphs interface

I've got a strange issue... :oops:

Cacti is running for several months, and the cpu's of the routers/switches are nicely put into graphs.
But for one or the other reason, the graphs of the interfaces are stopped...

I've just removed a router, and added it back with the cpu/interface (these are nicely discovered btw).
But again only the cpu are made in graphs, the interfaces stay empty.

Any idea where it could go wrong?

Besides RTFMing, what do the logs say?

These are your best friend.

Also, I found that enabling graph debugging will help.

Sorry guys, nothing found in the manuals that could put me on the right track. :$

In what specific log should i check, and after what am i looking?


The strange thing is that the cpu usuage is working find, but no interface graphs...
Is there a difference between interface templates and cisco templates that could explain this?

cacti.log with debugging logging will tell all what is going wrong... which that link I gave you documents ;).

Yes, there are differences, most likely the OIDs used, between the interface and cisco templates.

Graphs showing 3rd line

My cacti graph of some locations is showing a 3rd line which is violet in color can i known what exactly is that.

I am attaching the same for more clarify.

I see each time at the end of the first block: 'output: 0' ?
I don't know what this mean, or how i can change this...
Any hints?

I think i'm going ...... nuts...... :evil:


To enable some logging in the cacti.log, i've selected some things in the general settings of the cacti.
For example:
-> General -> Event Logging -> Web RRD Graph Syntax: YES
-> General -> Poller Spefici Logging -> Poller logging level: Medium
-> General -> Poller Spefici Logging -> Poller Syslog -> Poller Warnings: YES
-> General -> Poller Spefici Logging -> Poller Syslog -> Poller Errors: YES

And now i see that the interface are starting to fill up.
I thought that the above things had only impact on the log file, not on the graph?
Any thought? Could this be the reason? :oops:

This means that the traffic interfaces are returning their counters as 0 aka no traffic flowed through it. This is then a problem with your device and not cacti.

The graphs are filling up again after the settings changes...
No idea why, i didn't changed anything on device / configsettings. Just the things above...

But it works, just some gaps in between, but that's another prob i think...

I didn't find a solution.

I thought it was solved with changing the interface template, but it came back.

Maybe it's the amount of memory that's too low (700MB RAM)...

when i use "snmpwalk" to get the traffic of every port,it always return the same values each time . it should be increased
