[solved] Custom Script Data Query not creating rrd

Post by cyberhide »

I am running 0.8.7d and have created a custom script data query. The script works as it should returning data for index, num_indexes, query, get. The xml has a single input and multiple output fields defined and I see them in the association between the data query and the graph template. When I goto a device, i see many items/rows listed for the data query (as is expected). I then click create graphs, and select a data query based item to graph. I click create and it says " + created graph" at the top". I then check the poller cache, but do not see any new item for my newly created graph. My data source debug lists an rrd file, but that file does not exist on disk, and the graph debug says "no such file or directory". There appears to be something missing when I click create on the graph page. Besides the data source and graph item being created, there is no poller entry, or rrd creation.

Any clue guys?

Thanks,
Chris

Found the fix. Turns out the verbose query as well as the create graph from the gui run the data query script as the web user (makes sense), which is different from the user the poller runs as. Turned out to be a permission problem with the apache user on my server.
