Can't add threshold for non host based graphs?
I've got a number of monitors that aren't based on a single host device, I've added thresholds fine for all my device based hosts.
When I click add threshold the list shows me only devices, I can't create a threshold for a non device graph.
If I assign the datasource and graph to a dummy device then it lets me select the dummy device but my graph doesnt show in the graphs dropdown.
Surely this can't be a limitation of thold?
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a bug. Bug report here: http://bugs.cacti.net
The workaround is as follows:
1) Create Threshold Template
2) Select Graphs that you wish to apply template
3) From the drop down, Select "Create Threshold from Template"
Please let me know if this solves your problem. Again, you might want to consider a bug report on this.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?

Hi thanks for the reply.
I create a Threshold template no problem but when I try to select 'create threshold from template' for either datasources or graphs I get:
"There are no Threshold Templates associated with the following Data Sources" or "There are no Threshold Templates associated with the following graphs"
I tried in chrome, FF and IE - same issues.
I can't see a way to associate my newly created threshold template with a datasource or graph.
I click yes to add the threshold but it tells me the threshold already exists.
I then get the following the cacti log: "09/24/2009 10:37:08 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: SQL Row Failed!, Error:'1064', SQL:"SELECT * FROM thold_template WHERE id=""
And the following in the php error log:
[24-Sep-2009 10:37:08] PHP Notice: Undefined index: thold_template_id in D:\www\sites\cacti\plugins\thold\setup.php on line 515
Looking in the thold_* tables doesnt give me any more cues, I see one row for the template I have created and 4 rows for my existing thresholds.

I see the issue now. Time dependent (aka if I have enough today), you may see a commit today correcting this issue. You will have to watch the following svn:

I'm working with Jimmy to get it done. The changes in the last paid engagement are pretty significant. I would give you a patch, but because of the magnitude of the changes, that's going to be hard.

Re: Can't add threshold for non host based graphs?
Any movement here -- It is 2014? Is it in a newer release? I read through the rel notes but didn't see it.
