Broken Fonts in cacti diagrams

did anyone had this problem before and could tell me how to fix this?

Are you using rrdtool 1.3?
Are you using default fonts or do you provide specific fonts?

I had this as well. This is due to using RRDTool v1.3 for sure. Unfortunately I can't remember exactly what I did to fix it, but I suspect you just need to install the DejaVu Font package, and update your fontconfig list.

Then you might run into the mono vs proportional font issue, but that's another thread
