php ss_netsnmp_memory.php - FATAL: Unable to read memory dat

Post by aurfalien »

Hi,

I'm using Eric Halls net-snmp template with Cacti 87d to graph both Linux and OSX boxes and everything looks good.

However after installing Cacti 87e, my OSX boxes no longer show any values.

When executing the scrpt manually;

php ss_netsnmp_memory.php hostname:2:public

I get;

FATAL: Unable to read memory data from SNMP

Any one know why this is?

I've tried emailing Eric Hall but no word back.

Eric Hall was kind enough to help out with this.

He supplied a modified version of his template to work around the problem.

We, or rather he found that Cacti SNMP library is returning NULL for allocated buffers.

I'll file a bug.

I hope this helps any one else having this problem.

Its show up in 87e, using his memory template and querying an OSX 10.5.x host.

Again, many many thanks to Eric Hall.

You can find his new version on his site at;
