Printer MIBS

Post by mduran »

Hi, I made two templates, one for prtMarkerLifeCount and one for prtMarkerPowerOnCount. The first get the total printed pages and the second get the counter of total printed pages from last power on, in fact, I reset this counter all nights via a cron job whit this line:

/usr/bin/snmpset <ip> <write comunity> .1.3.6.1.2.1.43.5.1.1.3.1 i 5

so, I start the daily counter all nights in the printers that never power off

sugestion are welcome

Works very nicely. Thanks! The reset command needed some tweaking for my HP 4050N:

snmpset -v 1 -c public $HP4050N .1.3.6.1.2.1.43.5.1.1.3.1 i 5

Have you ever had any problems when resetting a printer?
My HP Color LaserJet 8500 DN changed the total number of printed pages in .1.3.6.1.2.1.43.10.2.1.4.1.1 (lifetime) from 238.202 to 190.598 when resetting using "snmpset -v 1 -c public dr256 .1.3.6.1.2.1.43.5.1.1.3.1 i 5"
Ever seen this before?
