I use Cacti in a small setup, monitoring 17 devices, but strangely de database keeps growing rather fast.
I have thrown away already 13 gigs of database files (running 5 months), without any functional impairment.
What can be the cause of this behaviour ?
Is it Cacti-related or MySQL ?
What can I do about it, except for the manual clean-up ?
Any help is welcome ....

I think you problem are the MySQL bin logs.

Also note, that the my.cnf in you case might be a my.ini and it should be located somewhere in your mysql installation.
