nothing polling after changing data template :poller empty ?

After changing the data template used by a data source (template 5mn polling to 1 mn polling template)

the data is never collected, when i view the poller cache this source is never in poller cache (the debug log mode says nothing to pool ??) but when i look the data source debugging mode and graph debugging works all is working fine. i don't understand

however this 1mn polling template is working because when i deleted the data source completely with his associated graphs and recreate it with this 1mn pooling data template it is working fine

the problem is i want to change the data template for a large number of ports of switchs to 1mn without recreat all my work for wich i spend several days to cacti and weahtermaps graphs configuring

Changing the data template does not propagate to the existing rrd files! This has been pointed out in the documentation.
Even rrdtool does not allow to add new data sources to an existing rrd file nor adding a new rra. That's basically why cacti does not support it either.
