Error retrieving CPU informations from Cisco devices

Post by alex.madrouter »

Hi,

I try to gather CPU utilization information from a 2950 switch.

Here is the Object : cpmCPUTotal5secRev and the associated OID : .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.8

Here is the error message from the cacti.log file :

07/27/2009 09:44:24 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[2] DS[12] WARNING: Result from SNMP not valid. Partial Result: U

and here the snmpwalk command from a shell:

pentacle:~ alex$ snmpwalk -c madrouter -v 2c 192.168.1.251 .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.8
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.8.1 = Gauge32: 0

I searched all the day, trying to change from cmd.php to spine, trying to rewrite functions. I did not find the solutions.

Any help would be very appreciate for this issue. Thank you.

This: .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.8
is not the same as this: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.8.1

even accounting for the SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises bit

If you are fetching that one OID with a data template, then you need to specify the right OID (with the .1).
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)
