strange spikes

Post by depe »

Hi
I am using cacti 0.87b and spine under debian lenny.

All running fine so far, until some months ago whe I start to see some cuts in the graphs.
I setup the Cacti Poller statistics and seeing that every 10 min (sometimes 5, sometimes 40) show high latency spikes.

The cacti is runing in a VM under xen, I changed to a empty host, and base time are better, but still have the spikes.

You can see the spikes here.

Anyone has any tip or recomendation ?

I Have like 1.9k host, 952 host per process, 19.19k data sources and 13.89k RRDs.

Thanks and regards.

I Found this other post

and trying with this settings.

How many CPUs are allocated? Surely you're using spine? Pay attention to script timeouts when running scripts

Reinhard, thanks for answer, I have 2 CPU enabled
xm top show 190% when getting data.

100% sure spine is running.

Then run 4 processes and 10-15 threads.
Again, watch out for scripts timing out
