what is the suggested setting for the following settings-->

currently looks like this - i am using spine 8-7e

I would say leave it at the default values unless you have any specific issues.

thanks a lot for your response, the reason fo my question is this is my 4th cacti installation, all my cacti server setup different way. specially -
Maximum Concurrent Poller Processes -some of them 2 other one is 3 and other one is 4. what happen is when I left the default 6 i got this error "

SPINE: Poller[0] ERROR: SQL Failed! Error:'1062', Message:'Duplicate entry

i have searched for long time a solution and some suggested duplicate cron entry but that was wrong, as I said this is my 4th installation there is no double cron job. but on one server (2) Concurrent Poller Processes ok other "3" other "4" I don't know why when ever changed Concurrent Poller Processes from 2 to 3 or 4 to five I am getting this error. I would like to here from the other users and developers about duplicate entery.
Thanks,
E

The settings depend whether you use cmd.php or spine.
The error message you posted is discussed at the 2nd link of my sig, "duplicate poller issue".

thank you for your response. however I didn't use rpm installation on all my last 3 servers. i am always using "crontab" for cron job. hereis my /etc/cron.d
[/etc/cron.d] # ls -al
drwxr-xr-x 2 root sys 7 May 27 13:27 .
drwxr-xr-x 58 root sys 183 Jul 22 05:23 ..
-rwxr--r-- 1 root sys 72 Jan 21 2005 .proto
-rw-r--r-- 1 root sys 40 Aug 25 2008 at.deny
-rw-r--r-- 1 root sys 40 Aug 25 2008 cron.deny
prw------- 1 root root 0 Jul 27 07:23 FIFO
-rw-r--r-- 1 root sys 17 Jan 21 2005 queuedefs
there is no cacti cron here. and my crontab looks like this. this is cacti user cron job. note- i am running cacti on Solaris 10

-->crontab -l
0,5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55 * * * * /opt/cacti/local/php5/bin/php /opt/cacti/local/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1
0 01 01 * * cat /dev/null > /opt/cacti/local/cacti/log/cacti.log

any thing wrong here...I have this issue on all last 3 server installed the last few month. and this problem solely related to spine, when the poller using cmd.php there is no problem. I am trying to use spine because I have close to 6000 graphs and to speed up the process.
--related to this I got once a while this error when running spine
POLLER: Poller[0] Maximum runtime of 298 seconds exceeded. Exiting.

so one time duplicate another time time-out I am totally confused.

thanks a lot for your help!
