re-alert doesnt work

Hi All,

I've set the re-alert cycle of a particular threshold. Then the server is down, when it was down there was ONE alert. The cycle is 5 mins and i set the re-alert to 96 as default, this means after a few hours it should re-alert, and now it's been 2 weeks, still no re-alert. How come?

If the host is down, THOLD won't send any alerts for breached thresholds, as it has no way of checking unless the host is up. There is a patch on the THOLD forums that allows for dead host notifications to be sent every hour until the host comes back up.

You should be able to find this patch at cactiusers.org

Rename /thold/includes/polling.php and replace with the enclosed file

This sounds like a function of "MANAGE" ??

The patch I provided means THOLD will re-alert every hour.

oh i see, so this doesn't relate to the Threshold page "RE-ALERT" setting right? but will just simply realert a down host every hour?

Exactly

Give it an hour, and see if you get an email like:

".....is still down......"

The Re-Alerting cycle (at the moment) only defines how often a repeat alert will be issued for a breached threshold.
