Changing the rra settings

Post by leandropires »

I am configuring the cacti for a specific monitoring and I need to change the rra settings to get data from the device per 1 minute instead of the default setting (5 minutes). I would be pleased if someone send me any information telling me how to do this.

You can change the interval for new data sources within Cacti in the data template menu (if I remember correctly). I think it is called Step or something like that. By default it is set to 300 seconds.

For your old RRD files, you will have to use rrdtool from the command line. Take a look at the rrdtool manual on the tool's homepage for details. You want to use the tune option.
