Calculate Packet size by dividing bytes in/out by pps in/out

Post by lonifer2000 »

Hi,

Trying to figure out how to create a new graph that takes the data from the following:

Bytes in/out
divided by
packets in/out

to produce and graph:

packet size in/out

Please help. Thanks

Sounds like a nice template. Please see our Docs site for your clues to an answer. I recommend you read up on RRDtool. This would appear to be quite a simple thing with the right application of CDEF's and the like.

Hi,

I have to do graph with average packet size and I would like to do it as mentioned above. I know that I have to use CDEF function to do this and saw documentation for CDEF functions, but I cannot find out how to use this.

Can somebody explain me how to do it starting from duplicated graph template for "Interface - Traffic (bytes/sec)". What are the next steps ?

Thanks in advance.

Please see docs at 1st link of my sig. They show step-by-step how to create custom templates. And there's a whole chapter on CDEF usage as well.
Come back with your questions, then
