Hi,
we use cacti with threshold to monitor lots of cisco router with cisco ip sla.
Under plans being considered we will have a group of four admins to monitor this systems. There is an user called "alarm", which gets notification messages. If we increase the amount of admins, I would not change all thresholds by hand, because of a fifth admin would join the team next year, I would have to do this again and again.
Is it possible to have one single user (alarm) with four email addresses? Or any other possibility?
Thanks,
Christian

Anything is possable.
It could be done in cacti but maybe it would be better done in your mail server. say cacti-admin1@yourcompany.com than just have it send emails to all of your admins. Than just manage your email group changing it when nessary. If you have a need to create diffrent groups for diffrent thold triggers you can do cacti-admin2,3,4,5@yourcompany.com I think you will get a resolution doing what you want this way much faster than the programming it into the plugin.
I like the idea just not enough of a programmer to do it myself.

We use Cacti to send emails to various groups. If your Cacti is on a Linux box it is straight forward.
Create a user e.g. distgroup1 in cacti.
Edit /etc/aliases
and add
distgroup1: user1@company1.com, user2@company1.com etc.
It works for us.
