Reload host template on device ?

Post by fat »

Hello,

I have a large number of devices with the same host template.

I added a dozen of graphs to this host template and I want to create them for each device.

is there a way to make it quick ? because now here what I've to do:
foreach device:
go to device list (1 click)
edit host (search + 1 click)
foreach graph
add it in Associated Graph Templates (on selection + 1 click)
end for
click "Create Graphs for this Host" (1 click)
select missing graph (quick) (1 click)
click add (1 click)
end foreach

I have 50 devices and 12 new graphs, it makes :
50 search
50*12 = 600 selection in a huge listbox
50*(1+1+12+1+1+1) = 850 clicks

I found a little workarround. I edit each device, change the host template to none and then back it to the original one. And the new graphs are added to the "Associated Graph Templates".

So here are my questions:

1- is there a way to reapply a host template on device which is already associated with a template ?
2- is there a way to do question 1 massively ?

3- is there a way from the associated graph, to create graph which are not already created ?
4- is there a way to do question 3 massively ?

I don't really care to spend times to create graphs template, data templates and data input queries as it's to be done once for every device. But creating graph massively is very important I think.

Thx for the answers

This is what the CLI (Command Line Interface) scripts in the 'cli' directory are for.

See host_update_template.php and add_graphs.php
