no graph when monitoring Cisco 2950

no graph when monitoring Cisco 2950

I'm a new user of Cacti
I've install cacti on a ubuntu distrib and I monitor localhost and other Windows server with no problem
Now i want to monitor a Cisco switch 2950
I create the new device and I see all interface. but when I want to graph it, I have nothing.
Can you help me ?

PS: sorry for my poor english... :(

Thanks Gandalf for your response.
I have read the documentation and I have no problem for monitoring server.
I've create a new host for the 2950 switch. The pb is on the device detection. Cacti says the switch is down. But I see all interfaces.
I don't know which method choose for device detection...
I test on the server concole, when I try to ping the swich I have a success !
But in the cacti.log file, I have :

Code: Select all

 CMDPHP: Poller[0] WARNING: UDP Ping Error: gethostbyname failed for 10.10.255.20
I think I have no graph because cacti don't ping the switch...
Can you help me ?

OK I'va solved my problem.
It was a bug with my 0.8.7b version : http://bugs.cacti.net/view.php?id=1204
I upgrade with 0.8.7d and it work fine... sorry... :wink:
