Hi,
Sorry, my English skills aren't what they used to be.
I get the login screen when I set 'global_auth' to 'on' .
I changed from dynamic to static IP-address on the FreeBSD machine and that seemd to solve my login problem ... (i think ?!)
Or was it the reboot?
On the win2k machine it still doesn't work, but that doesn't matter..
Thanks Anyway.

cacti install problem
I have the same problem. Followed the install instructions, even tried recompiling my php4, but i still am unable to go further than the initial install.php, you get when you first try to install.
Properly is some kind of mysql <-> php connection thing. But the php seems able to connect to the mysql database, as when i try to disable the login authentication, im able to view cacti, but still not able to save, the changes in the mysql-database, so i im guessing there is a problem with the connect to the database.
I have checked that I have a /tmp/mysql.sock, as i thought that might be the problem. And the cactiuser has Select, Insert, Update, Delete, Create, Alter permissions in the database.
Im using php 4.2.1
apache 1.3.24
mysql 3.23.49
on FreeBSD 4.5 RELENG
and register_globals is On in the php.ini file
