Monitoring Siemens HiPath 4000 Connections

Post by jerrison »

Hi there,

someone might find this helpful :).
This is for monitoring the actual connections from a Siemens Hipath 4000 AP.
To check if you can get the specific value, see if you can "http" to http://host-ip:8082/fCpcShowNetConnTable.
This might not work with a firmware release <=2.0, i have no way of testing it. Anyway, check with your browser if you can get the values first
My script only grabs that output and returns it to cacti.

Install:
-check http://host-ip:8082/fCpcShowNetConnTable
-Put "hipath-connects.pl" in <cacti-root>/scripts
-Import Template
-get graphs

Hi jerrison,

thanks for sharing!

I have a HiPath 4000 V4 and I use the "Web Assistant" via https://hipath-ip

http://hipath-ip:8082/fCpcShowNetConnTable doesn't work for me.
Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Hi there,

this might only work with an AP and not a HFA unit, as far as i noticed. It kind of depends on how your system is build.
Oh, and our admins told me, that they had to enable the web interface somehow...i´ll ask them tomorrow!

Damn :-?

We have the HFA unit and a small ap for our branch.
Would be great to get some infos how to enable that.
If it's not going to work I might consider calling siemens directly.

Thank you!

Hi there,

my Siemens guy told me to enable the "Dateizugriffsfähigkeit" on each AP.
Now, this is the german word for sth. like "File Accessibilty" (?) or sth. like that.

I hope this might help :)
