Poller do not create rra for network interfaces / traffic

Post by ziembor »

Operating System: Windows Web Server 2008 (SP1)
Webserver: IIS 7
Cacti: 0.8.7d + all path from http://www.cacti.net/downloads/patches/ ... tched/lib/
Spine: -- not use
MySQL: 5.1
PHP: PHP Version 5.2.9-2, as ISAPI (the same with FastCGI)
RRDTool (Cygwin or Win32 version): cygwin, http://www.cacti.net/downloads/rrdtool/ ... 1.5.20.zip
Net-SNMP: net-snmp-5.4.2.1-1.win32.exe
Cygwin (cygwin1.dll version): no cygwin as package, part of rrdtool package 1.5.20 (product), 1005.20.0.0 (file version).
Plugin Architecture: none

I configure using Windows 2000/XP host template, and create graphs. But during polls it create graphs only for memory, count of processes. There are no network traffic statistics.
When I investigate I saw that still try to create RRD for those interface.
When I try repeat that command I receive:
C:\temp>c:\rrdtool\rrdtool.exe create C:/cacti/rra/idcfw02_traffic_in_62.rrd --step 300 DS:traffic_in:COUNTER:600:0: 10000000 DS:traffic_out:COUNTER:600:0: 10000000 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1:600 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:6:700 RRA:AVERAGE
:0.5:24:775 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:288:797 RRA:MAX:0.5:1:600 RRA:MAX:0.5:6:700 RRA:MAX:0.5:24:775 RRA:MAX:0.5:288:797
ERROR: failed to parse data source 600:0:

after delete all not nescessary spaces after 600:0: it create that .rrd.
DS:traffic_in:COUNTER:600:0: 10000000 -> DS:traffic_in:COUNTER:600:0:10000000
DS:traffic_out:COUNTER:600:0: 10000000 ->
DS:traffic_out:COUNTER:600:0:10000000

it looks that such problems occurs before (http://www.cacti.net/downloads/patches/ ... tion.patch ) but probably not everywhere.

In web interface in Console -> Data Sources -> any "Get SNMP Data (Indexed)" item -> field Maximum Value contains space before 100K number (see attachement).

On system installed using Windows Installer (http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=14946) such problems not occurs.

any ideas?

OK: I delete hosts with data, create hosts again, add graph again and it add max value properly.

When I create device: no. Now I've got all.

Was that a yes or no?

You stated/listed the patches were installed... yet your output would show that the patch is not applied. After installing the patch, delete or fix those broken data sources (with the space), refresh the snmp interface data queries, clear the poller cache and you should be good to go.
