PIA 2.1 or 2.2?

Post by kmhendress »

Where can I get the original install files for PIA 2.1 or 2.2. All I can find is 2.4 on http://cactiusers.org/downloads/

Thanks!

There's a 2.2 beta on this web site. Use that. Google is your friend.

I am running Cacti 0.8.7d, PA 2.4, php5 and 0.7 of cycle

I still get the following error

Notice: Undefined variable: title in /usr1/web-data/htdocs/www/cacti/plugins/cycle/ajax.php on line 212

Notice: Undefined variable: graphid in /usr1/web-data/htdocs/www/cacti/plugins/cycle/ajax.php on line 212

and shows no graphs for cycling.

This might be a lame question so I apologize if it is. I don't have a "Cycle" tab ... I see the "cycle" tab in the menu-configuration-settings-cycle and I set some of the variables, but I don't know how to go to the graphs to see a cycle graph. I was expecting to see a tab called "cycle" next to console/graphs/clog/discover

help?

update ...

I created a new user that I copied from "admin" and the new user can see the cycle tab now.

I don't know what's different because both users have the same things checked (which is everything)

I checked with a friend who runs cacti and he says his admin account can see the cycle tab. (i thought maybe the admin couldn't??)

Cycle on Monitor plugin

Post by Tanzarian »

Hi The Witness

I recently installed this plugin and love the functionality.

We have one small problem with our Monitor screen and that is, we have too many devices to fit on one LCD screen.

Is there any chance that we can get cycle to work with the monitor screen and cycle with Device Templates perhaps so you cycle a page with many devices every x number of seconds? For example one cycle page would have printers and the next cycle page would have servers etc...

I am probably asking a lot but since you created the functionality for grpahs and weathermaps it has opened my eyes.

This way we can monitor all our devices on one screen instead of having multiple PCs with CACTI running. Saves time and money and much easier on the eyes :P

Thanks

Hi Cycle Folks,

I installed this plugin and its sort of working... Weirdly its only presenting every second graph. There seems no other lapse in functionality.

So it presents one graph ok and on the next refresh it shows a broken file icon, then a valid graph, then a broken file icon.... and so on, and so forth

in the apache error_log i see :-

[Fri May 29 12:07:48 2009] [error] [client 10.61.65.76] File does not exist: /opt/coolstack/apache2/htdocs/cacti/images/tab_mode_tree<br , referer: http://cactiserver/cacti/plugins/cycle/cycle.php
[Fri May 29 12:07:48 2009] [error] [client 10.61.65.76] File does not exist: /opt/coolstack/apache2/htdocs/cacti/images/tab_mode_list<br , referer: http://cactiserver/cacti/plugins/cycle/cycle.php
[Fri May 29 12:07:48 2009] [error] [client 10.61.65.76] File does not exist: /opt/coolstack/apache2/htdocs/cacti/images/tab_mode_preview<br , referer: http://cactiserver/cacti/plugins/cycle/cycle.php
ERROR: the RRD does not contain an RRA matching the chosen CF

Any thoughts about why this may be or how to gather further diagnostics that may help me find a resolution?

<edit> using the solaris dtrace tool opensnoop I found that when the above errors occur, apache is trying to access :-
80 21869 httpd -1 /opt/coolstack/apache2/htdocs/cacti/plugins/cycle/include/global.php

its like the root path of cacti has gotten messed up somehow and is now pointing to the cycle plugin dir .... any thoughts???

<end edit>

Regards Rep

Ok the problem of cycle only presenting every second graph persists.

When I check the page source that cycle is generating when the graphs are not presented i see the following :-

please note the line ending :-
img src="/cacti/images/tab_mode_tree<br />
<table width="100%" height="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
<tr height="25" bgcolor="#a9a9a9" class="noprint">
<td colspan="2" valign="bottom" nowrap>
<table width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
<tr style="background: transparent url('/cacti/images/cacti_backdrop2.gif') no-repeat center right;">
<td id="tabs" nowrap>
&nbsp;<a href="/cacti/index.php"><img src="/cacti/images/tab_console.gif" alt="Console" align="absmiddle" border="0"></a><a href="/cacti/graph_view.php"><img src="/cacti/images/tab_graphs.gif" alt="Graphs" align="absmiddle" border="0"></a><a href="/cacti/plugins/cycle/cycle.php"><img src="/cacti/plugins/cycle/images/tab_cycle_down.gif" alt="cycle" align="absmiddle" border="0"></a><a href="/cacti/plugins/discovery/discover.php"><img src="/cacti/plugins/discovery/images/tab_discover.gif" alt="Discover" align="absmiddle" border="0"></a><a href="/cacti/plugins/monitor/monitor.php"><img src="/cacti/plugins/monitor/images/tab_monitor.gif" alt="Monitor" align="absmiddle" border="0"></a> </td>
<td id="gtabs" align="right" nowrap>

<a href="/cacti/graph_settings.php"><img src="/cacti/images/tab_settings.gif" border="0" alt="Settings" align="absmiddle"></a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="/cacti/graph_view.php?action=tree"><img src="/cacti/images/tab_mode_tree<br />
<b>Notice</b>: Undefined index: action in <b>/opt/coolstack/apache2/htdocs/cacti/include/top_graph_header.php</b> on line <b>102</b><br />

</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
also i have started to occasionally get the following error seeming to suggest some includes are not being found :-
Warning: include(./include/global.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /opt/coolstack/apache2/htdocs/cacti/include/auth.php on line 25

Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening './include/global.php' for inclusion (include_path='/opt/coolstack/php5/lib/php:.:/opt/coolstack/apache2/htdocs/cacti/include:') in /opt/coolstack/apache2/htdocs/cacti/include/auth.php on line 25

Fatal error: Call to undefined function db_fetch_cell() in /opt/coolstack/apache2/htdocs/cacti/include/auth.php on line 28
seems my cacti installation is biodegrading since i installed the cycle plugin.

help !!

ok seems like there are multiple issues here, I fixed one of them (where the tabs after the graph_settings tab) were not being visually represented. The problem was in top_graph_header.php and the fix was found is this thread :-

http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t ... c&start=30

Now the cycle page has all the tabs presented and the errors related to tabs have disappeared.

I still only see every second graph presented by cycle however. Still working on it.

Simply goto Console->Settings->Cycle and press "Save". This should resolve the problem. There is an issue obtaining defaults with the plugin. I saw this during training in Japan a few weeks ago.

I was a bit embarrassed.

graph timespan will not change

Post by chasonb »

I am using cacti 0.8.7e and cycle v.7. It seems to be working as expected except that the graph timespans will not change. It doesn't matter what I set as the default timespan in the cycle tab of the settings page of Cacti or what timespan I choose from the drop down while viewing the cycle. It appears that the timespan is always the past 24 hours. Viewing the graphs normally in Cacti allows me to view the various timespans just fine. Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks,
-Brad

To let us know what is going on, due the following:

1) Use FF 3.x
2) Install Firebug
3) Open Cycle and post a screenshot of the errors generated when you change the timespan.
4) Also, check the apache error_log for additional details/clues and post as well.

I've got the same issue! Has there been any progress made on this problem?

Thanks,
