Cannot create graphs
Hi all,
first post here.. brand new linux/ubuntu user so everything is ULTRA wierd/hard/new to me. Thanks in advance for the help.
OK.. I had everything working on Cacti 0.8.7b, I upgraded to Cacti 0.8.7d and can sucesfully open the program.
Enter problem:
on the "localhost", the graphs that were there are no longer working.
Graph Management > "Turn On Graph Debug Mode"
RRDTool Command:
/usr/bin/rrdtool graph - \
--imgformat=PNG \
--start=-86400 \
--end=-300 \
--title="localhost - Processes" \
--base=1000 \
--height=120 \
--width=500 \
--alt-autoscale-max \
--lower-limit=0 \
--vertical-label="processes" \
--slope-mode \
--font TITLE:12: \
--font AXIS:8: \
--font LEGEND:10: \
--font UNIT:8: \
DEF:a="/usr/share/cacti/site/rra/localhost_proc_19.rrd":proc:AVERAGE \
AREA:a#F51D30FF:"Running Processes" \
GPRINTLAST:"Current\:%8.0lf" \
GPRINTAVERAGE:"Average\:%8.0lf" \
GPRINTMAX:"Maximum\:%8.0lf"
RRDTool Says:
ERROR: opening '/usr/share/cacti/site/rra/localhost_proc_19.rrd': No such file or directory
---------------------------------------------------
also, in the "New Graphs" section, on any graphs that I've attempted to create it says:
Error in data query.
Notice: Undefined variable: column_counter in /usr/share/cacti/site/graphs_new.php on line 887
---------------------------------------------------
I have searched for hours trying to find an allready written solution. I'm guessing it's something to do with file write permissions. I have followed all the directions in http://www.howtoforge.com/cacti_ispconfig (and everywhere else I could find comprehensive directions)
No luck so far.
Please help. Trying to get some good graph happiness

Ok.. in my cacti.log file it reads:
also, when I actually try and create a graph it says that it's sucessfully created "+ Created graph: |host_description| - Load Average"
BUT, it gives this error:
I looked through the url about debugging and made sure everything was correct.

Sorry if this is an information overload.
But, this error shows up before I ever attempt to create a graph on the main "new graphs" page if I select "Graph Types: All"
However, if I select one of the graphs:
How can I find "line 515" or "line 887" inside graphs_new.php ??? (only wondering as a side note, not that this is the cause of the error)

I don't fully understand the whole... "compile" thing.. but I don't think so. To install cacti I followed the instructions at: http://www.ubuntugeek.com/install-and-c ... erver.html
I think spine was installed through this command:
BUT. It only installed version 0.8.7b, and I needed a script that was made with 0.8.7c, so after it took me forever, I figured out how to upgrade it. (I was stuck on finding what my default cacti directory was.)
Now I have version 0.8.7d "working", but without graphs yet.
Thanks for the help,
Yoshi

I changed my poller to cmd.php just to see if anything started working.
Something changed.....
no longer am I getting any errors in the "new graphs" page....
AND....
but.. any graph that I attempt to make, does not show up in the graph tree...
PROGRESS... (I did change to cmd.php when first sugested, then I finished going through the debugging section... I think it might have been wrong permissions)
EDIT:
Just went to create another graph and it still has this error (with cmd.php poller)
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /usr/share/cacti/site/graphs_new.php on line 515
EDIT2:
Grr...
though I changed nothing, seems any success I had for a moment was false hope...

OK.... Officially call me Bi-Polar.... maybe I wasn't waiting long enough... because before my edits I had just deleted and remade my couple devices and graphs that I'm working with....
so maybe I didn't give it enough time... because now its:
