Cactid on debian
I just upgraded from the standard cacti package to cacti-cactid with apt-get, and it prompted me select with data collector to use and I choose cactid instead of cmd.php. Is this all I need to do? Looks like cactid has several threads running.

Of course, you need to obtain and make Cactid. It is pretty stable now. There will be a few more tweaks, but it is almost the finished product. (At least for 0.8.6).
The important thing to realize (that is if you are using the Beta versions of Cacti 0.8.6) is that you simply need to schedule "poller.php" and populate the Cactid Path in the Settings->Paths section. I suggest that you run Cactid as root to enable the ICMP ping. In addition, you should be placing your Cactid.conf file in the /etc folder.
Cheers,

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?

Sorry, this looks like a third party integration of Cacti. I suggest you contact them to get instructions.
