CPU usage graphs - Nice calculation off the scale??

Post by tassie »

Hi most of my CPU usage graphs for nearly all of my servers running Redhat 8 all started out fine, sowing System/User/Nice all correctly. But now for some strange reason the Nice calculation on nearly all my graphs is rediculous, either that or im just reading it wrong. For example if I take a look at one graph now the "current" measurement for Nice is 667.34m. What does this mean? Is it 667.64 minutes or milliseconds or what?

I have attached a copy of a graph to this posting so you can get an idea of what I mean.
Any input on this subject would be most apreciated.

Cheers

The m stands for milli. u = micro. K = kilo, M = Mega, G = giga. milli = 10^-3. So 900m = 0.900 * 10^-3 = 0.0009. Cacti puts these exponent modifing letters after your number to prevent excess 0's from clouding up the display. If you want all the numbers on one graph to be in the same form (i.e., all in kilo, or milli), then go make a new GPrint preset. Copy it from the 'normal' preset. But change the last lowercase s, to an uppercase S. Then apply this new gprint preset to your graph items.
