how to get Object Identifier(OID) for MIB file using php

Hi every one,

i unable to get ObjectID(OID) for particular MIB file from PHP. snmptranslate command is there for linux to idetify the Oid based on option which they select form mib. but how would i idetify oid value from php.

"snmpwalk -On" will spit out the raw OID.

Thanks for ur Reply. Whatever u r saying is absolutly correct , but what my requirement is i need to identify the Object ID numaric number based on what object they request from User interface part through Php (not through linux commands).

For Example, if user select "sysDescr" from user side i need to idetify the OID is .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1 for that "sysDescr" using Php functions.

Then you should consult the php snmp manual. How is this related to cacti?
