Aggregated graph 95th percentile

Post by technicidat »

Hi,

I created an aggregate graph from two switch ports (using the aggregate plugin). Each port has it's 95th percentile displayed.

There is also a 95th for the whole of the aggregated graph and this seems to be correct however I am not sure that this is the case.

The aggregate 95th line is not the same as the two individual port's 95th values added together. I understand that these figures may be different (as was pointed out in an earlier post), but I would like a professional opinion on the difference (quite small, within a few megs of the individually added values) and if the 95th displayed is in fact correct.

Please have a look at the graph pics attached as well as the Graph Items showing how the graph was created.

Thanks for reading..

From what I can see on the graph, that calculation looks to be correct.

The only way I could completely evaluate it would be to get a "rrdtool fetch" of the rrdtool files that you are using and manually calculate it. But, I really don't have time to do this.. :)

Being that I wrote the aggregate functions and have tested them extensively, I would say it'd doing what it's suppose to.

Hello I am a bit new to cacti and trying to accomplish the same on three links. We are able to use the aggregate plugin to get all three graphs however is there is way to get the totals and total 95th reading with out having to add the line items manually to the graph?
