[solved] Questions on new installer

Post by MrGutts »

Hello,

Can anyone tell me what is the default user name and password of the MYSQL instance that the installer drops in? I have been hunting around doing searches on it and every time I run into 10000 plus results, all of which are not what I am looking for.

Also can the MYSQL instance be locked down to itself (no remote connections)??

Thanks in advance

The usernames / passwords were listed at the last screen of the installer AND bottom of the post-installation guide (which you read, right?).

yes, mysql can be locked down. I believe you enable the 'skip-networking' option. Otherwise, use a firewall / ACLs.

No way man, I don't RTFM. I just jump right in feet or head first. :)

Looks like cacti doesn't like the skip-networking, may need to try a bind-address to lock it down.

Thank you BSOD
